Course Description
At The Mandt System, everything we do is rooted in our belief that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. That’s why we have developed our Enhanced Safety Program, which provides additional training and resources to help your staff handle even the most challenging situations. This course is designed to meet the unique needs of organizations that cannot be covered by our RCT and Advanced levels of training.
The Enhanced Safety training course focuses on the concept that every person has the right to a personal identity and the least restrictive environment possible. Your team will learn advanced techniques to handle extreme cases, ensuring that the overall safety of both staff and individuals served is maintained. All techniques taught in this course have been rigorously tested and prioritize maintaining safety for all involved. These techniques should only be used when all other options have been exhausted.
The Conceptual Library
To deepen understanding of key topics – such as Trauma-Informed Services, which helps staff support individuals who have experienced trauma, and Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS), which focuses on supporting people, not just their behaviors – we have developed the Conceptual Library. This is an additional resource for all levels of training, offered at no extra cost.
Who Is This Course for?
This course was specifically designed to help organizations that encounter situations where aggressive behavior and violence exceed the training addressed in the Advanced course. The Enhanced Safety course is ideal for teams who require more specialized skills to manage high-risk situations safely and effectively.
Certification Requirements & Costs
The Enhanced Safety course is available only by request, following a training needs assessment and thorough review of your organization’s specific needs. To be eligible, your organization must have at least one Advanced instructor. Additionally, the cost for training up to 10 instructors is a flat fee of $4,195 USD / $5,760 CAD. Additional travel expenses may apply.
Yes. To participate in this course, we require, at minimum, the last six months of restraint practice data. All data collected is kept strictly confidential.
Instructors are certified for two years. Staff are certified for one year.
There are no “open” Enhanced Safety courses. All courses are developed after a thorough assessment of an organization’s training needs and completed on-site for the approved organization. Contact us for more information.
